Si tratta di modellini articolati e posabili. Esistono diverse linee che si differenziano per la scala (FG First Grade HG High Grade Real RG Grade MG Master Grade PG Perfect Grade la difficoltà di montaggio e per i dettagli e le finiture... ma tutti NECESSITANO DI ASSEMBLAGGIO. Solo che il montaggio non richiede doti particolari: partendo dai kit più semplici TUTTI POSSONO MONTARE UN GUNPLA. Infatti tutti i pezzi del kit s'incastrano perfettamente tra loro e l'assemblaggio non necessita (quasi mai) di colla. Sono sufficienti soltanto pinzette e taglierino e il gioco è fatto!
